Top one looks like microfibre. We ordered a large size and its really a big one. For the newborn large is too large. Better go for small one.We cut it into two halves and we are using it.

It's lightweight, yet stays in place. The top material is soft and fleece-like, but doesn't make you feel warm. Temperature-wise it's like sleeping on a regular cotton bedsheet. The waterproof material on the other side is really sturdy, unlike other rubber-like coatings that peel off.
