I have been using a non stick Dosa tawa for long but was very worried about the toxic fumes. I was scared of buying cast iron because I heard it’s high maintenance. Even this one is more maintenance than non stick rawa but it’s much healthier. It’s well seasoned but you still need to do 1 round of seasoning I apply oil everytime before storing. So far so good. Would have loved to have an insulated handle. They do give a cloth cover for the handle but it’s pretty much useless. Overall - amazing buy!

First off, we have used many skillets / cast iron tawas in the past over last 20 years or so, so the concept is not new for us. we trusted Vinod as we had previously used their products, but this iron Tawa was a first. in the first two attempts we were unable to get proper heat into the tawa, Note: we followed all their instructions to the T. on our third try, this tawa got a CRACK on its own, which of course surprised us. We never knew , this was just the beginning of a very bad experience with this brand. It's ok, sometimes, products aren't well made. but contacting customer care of Vinod has left us extremely disappointed and disgruntled. 1) the Lady who attends Vinod customer care calls, is to say the least Horrible. no mannerisms to talk," 2) our call was picked after trying for atleast 5-6 times. and we have spoken thrice in a span of 30 days. 3) we were asked to mail the team with pictures and to keep patience while her boss ( customer care lady's boss) replies. 4) her boss didn't reply till we sent 3 reminders and after 19 days of original mail. extremely poor response times. 5) the lady scolded us, stating , nothing is wrong with their products and if we want to further investigate , we should courier them our product," 6) same was said in a shabbily written mail, blaming customer about how we don't have uinderstanding of operation of a tawa. Ofcourse , I got a feeling about warranty claim won't be taken forward with this company. It's extremely poor customer service , totally Unprofessional, and if you cannot deal with customer complaints, please don't sit in that position and blame customers without listening to them. have a polite demeanor, those are basics. I will never consider purchasing Vinod products here onwards. I would have accepted my Money gone down the drain, but getting such response for a product I paid for , when there isn't even my fault is pathetic. I am writing this review after a month as I didn't want to write in anger. future buyers BEWARE.
