Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

Hawkins.. Name itself indicates product specially made for Indian kitchen. we are using it from past 15 days. we cooked multiple items like Rice, Dal, vegetables, Chicken and mutton, but water is not coming from whistle of other part of cooker. whistle for steam is short like 5-10 sec. only. so you will get 3-4 days for adjusting with Hawkins cooker. once you will get idea of whistle then simply its favorite. Best part is if you didn't turn-off gas and continuous whistles are blowing don't worry your food will not burned out. That will safe in Hawkins. Good option for daily cooking for 2-3 people.

I thought that 1.5 ltr will be sufficient for my family of three persons but when i received it then i realised it is really too small for my family. Product quality is awesome, infact Hawkins is a big brand for making a reliable and strong pressure cooker. I personally recommend to everybody who want to buy it for 1 or 2 person. Just go for it.
