I was searching for a small round base/ round bottom kadai in hard anodized category, for deep frying. This one is just the perfect size and shape for that. I was happy to find one offered by Hawkins. We, trust Hawkins a lot. The aesthetics is very pleasing (we all loved this cute and tiny kadai).The lid fits nicely on the kadai. I had read some negative reviews about the lid. So I was a bit worried about it. But as it turns out, no such problem for me.The handles feel comfortable to hold. Whether they get heated or not, that I do not know yet. Will find out once I have used it.Weight wise it is not very light compared to the size. But it is also not very heavy. I could easily hold it by one handle (I was just trying to feel the weight).This is the 3rd time I am buying a Hawkins Futura product from amazon. And so far no complaint at all. Can't wait to use it!

Annodised aluminium gives you the heat distribution of Aluminium, sturdiness of steel, non-stickyness of asbestos and granite, without the health downsides that come with aluminium.Ordinarily aluminium is bad for health, because it causes all sorts of long-term metal poisoning. But annodised aluminium is so hard, that the aluminium does not leak easily.Moreover, its very easy to clean, and reasonably non-stick. The non-stickiness is not as good as say granite, but it's good enough.This kadhai in itself is such a nice small size and shape that it's good for everyday use for a 2-3 people family.

I am writing this review after 6 months of usage. Kadai seems durable and is very thick. So food evenly gets heated . But this is not nonstick instead hard anodised. Please buy after knowing the difference. Very easy to clean.

I brought 1.5 L (22cm) hard anodized round bottom Kadhai with glass lid. The item quality is good. One design defect which I noticed is that the lid sits on the handle revits inside the Kadhai which is not very stable. Usually glass lids usually have a hole on the top (this one don’t). May be they think it is not needed as the lid anyway is not fitting well! If I see this in the shop, it may restrain me from going for it even though it is a minor issue. May be other sizes (or the metal lid) may not have the issue.
