I had seen the negative reviews and was worried about the outcome. However, my idlis turned out perfect.I had poured a glass of water in the lower plate/ container and then spread a few drops of oil on the idli moulds. Thereafter, I put two tablespoons of batter, in each of the four moulds and after placing the lid, kept it in the microwave at 500°C for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes I again set the same temperature for another 5 minutes. The idlis turned out perfect.You can also use one plate at a time for neater results

Decent plastic material. The only thing I find troublesome is that it gets very hot when cooking idlis in the microwave and gets difficult to pick and hold.
