The flavour was just yumm!!! Brought back childhood memories.., my grandmother used to make it the same way. Only if a little salt can be reduced it would be excellent. Nice big pieces of jackfruit were there. It was very well packed & with it came 2 samples of pickles . Will order again very soon .

I don't like to write reviews for products that I buy. Especially the Food Items coz each one of us have different taste buds and our choices are different. In the same family one prepared food will be liked by some and few might not like. Especially when it comes to a pickle it's all a game of Oil, Salt and the quality of key ingredient ( Kathal in this case). There are products for which I felt too much of salt but other didn't feel so. Hence my request to all who are reading the reviews keep in mind that our taste buds also change with the location / region where we live in. In south especially, the oil content & Spice ( including Mustard ) will be more and they don't use Fennel Seeds much. In the contrast in North Indian pickles, the oil will be less along with a large presence of Fennel Seeds and low levels of Mustard and spice. The point I'm trying to make here is simple, Just Go ahead with What you Feel is good, keeping the source of the Brand in mind.Coming to the actual review of the Kathal in the jar that I bought. I could see clearly the large pieces of Kathal which was obviously expected. However what I liked the most is the quality of Kathal that was used. Let me remind you that we are talking about a product that is off late termed as a King of Fruits or the Super Food among all vegetables. The processing of Kathal would be one of the hardest work compared to a simple, Tomato pickle or Ginger garlic pickle. The reason why I'm emphasizing on the quality of Kathal is because it will have a seed inside and the seeds toughness decides how raw or ripen was the Jack-fruit when prepared. The unfortunate reality is, one can go for any brand, the Kathal seeds inside the pickle will be there. No one is offering a seedless Kathal pickle as far as I know. I've tried multiple brands. So if it can't be avoided, then we should zero in on a brand with less seeds and with a low impact. The seed will also have a strong cover on it which can't be even eaten. It will be stuck in the throat. Unlike a garlic cover which is not that dangerous, a Jack-fruit seed cover must be thrown out. Considering all these practical issues with a subject like Kathal, we need to dissect the pickle review. Now, let me close saying this - It's good interms of quality of the Kathal used. You can see for yourself what you are eating. Very large size pieces but remember, I felt this as a Ripen Kathal Pickle. The raw one will be completely different. The packing was good, even now the glass jar is safe and does it's intended work. The spice, as I said earlier, depends from person to person, I felt to be very low. This indirectly indicates that all your family members can happily eat. Regarding Salt , I wont comment, as it's an individual choice. I won't go over ga ga on this but yes, it can be tried once.Sorry, was in a weekend mode, the review went on for a long ;-) happy buying @ amazon.
